How It Works: Isotretinoin comprehensively addresses acne pathophysiology by shrinking sebaceous glands, dramatically reducing sebum production, normalizing follicular keratinization, and exerting systemic anti-inflammatory effects throughout the skin.
Common Uses: Severe recalcitrant acne, moderate-to-severe acne in lighter patients requiring weight-adjusted dosing, dose-initiation and step-up isotretinoin protocols, and acne with significant scarring risk.
