How It Works: Dexamethasone binds to glucocorticoid receptors, suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators and cytokines, reducing the inflammatory Mazzotti reaction during filarial treatment and managing CNS edema in neurocysticercosis.
Common Uses: Management of inflammatory reactions during filariasis treatment, adjunct therapy in neurocysticercosis, allergic reactions, cerebral edema, and severe inflammatory conditions requiring potent corticosteroid suppression.
Administration: Take as prescribed by your physician. Doses are tapered and individualized. Take with food to minimize gastric irritation. Do not stop abruptly — follow the tapering schedule.
