The ER formulation allows sustained drug release for consistent plasma levels throughout the day.
How It Works: Faropenem acts by inhibiting bacterial penicillin-binding proteins essential for cell wall cross-linking. Its stability against common beta-lactamase enzymes gives it an advantage over many standard penicillins when treating resistant or difficult-to-treat bacterial organisms.
Common Uses: Farobact 300 ER is prescribed for community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible bacterial strains.
Administration: Farobact 300 ER is typically taken twice daily, with or after food. Swallow the tablet whole — do not crush or split extended-release tablets. Follow the prescribed duration even if symptoms resolve early during treatment.
