Flonida 5% Cream contains Fluorouracil 5%, a topical antineoplastic agent used to treat superficial skin cancers and pre-cancerous keratoses through direct cytotoxic action on abnormal skin cells.
How It Works: Topical fluorouracil is converted intracellularly to active metabolites (FdUMP, FUTP) that inhibit thymidylate synthase and disrupt RNA synthesis, selectively destroying rapidly dividing dysplastic and malignant skin cells.
Common Uses: Actinic keratoses, superficial basal cell carcinoma, Bowen's disease, and other superficial premalignant skin lesions on the face, scalp, and body.
Administration: Apply twice daily to affected areas with a non-metal applicator. Avoid eyes, nostrils, and mouth. Expect local inflammatory reaction (redness, crusting) — this is a sign of efficacy. Use sunscreen throughout treatment.
Storage: Store below 25°C. Do not freeze. Cap tightly after use. Keep away from children.
