How It Works: Ivermectin disrupts nerve signal transmission in parasites by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing sustained hyperpolarization and paralysis of helminths and ectoparasites.
Common Uses: Pediatric and low-weight adult dosing for strongyloidiasis, threadworm, scabies, head lice, and lymphatic filariasis requiring weight-based dose titration.
Administration: Take on an empty stomach with water. Dose is calculated by body weight (typically 150–200 mcg/kg). Follow the physician's prescribed single or repeat dose schedule.
