How It Works: Ivermectin potently inhibits chloride ion channel function in parasitic nerve cells, creating irreversible neuromuscular blockade in helminths and ectoparasites while being safe and well-tolerated in humans at therapeutic doses.
Common Uses: Strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, scabies (including crusted/Norwegian scabies), head lice, and tropical eosinophilia.
